CD Release Parties & Other News:

A release party date has been set for Kat Jones & Diseases for Kisses in Fresno, CA.  The party will take place on June 18, 2004.  Other acts are TBA but we will let you know as soon as we find out what's going on.

As well, there's a party which has been set up to celebrate the Esquire Magazine mention of Fresno as one of the top cities in the U.S. for music.  That will be taking place at The Starline on May 21st (the day after Kat's birthday) and will feature Fresno artists Mynis, & 40 Watt Hype as well as Kat Jones & Diseases For Kisses.  You might want to come out and support the scene at that one.  A very ecclectic show line-up for Fresno.

Now Booking:

Kat has started booking a summer tour from June 18th to July 30th.  If you are interested in booking any of those dates you may email her at katjonesbooking@hotmail.com .  There is more information on what dates are available where on the Tours page of this website.

It has also been confirmed that Kat will be going on another tour with The Violet Burning this summer.  It should range from the mid-west to the west coast.  The dates of that tour are going to be July 14 - July 27th, 2004.  We are looking forward to that emensly.  No word yet on whether or not Kat will be with a back up band on that tour.  You can email velvet.blue@verizon.net for information on how to set up a show on that tour.

The new record, "La Rosa, La Calavera" has been mastered, the artwork is officially finished and it is going into production most likely this week or next.  We should have a release date for you any day now.  Sweet.

Esquire Magazine had this to day in their April 2004 issue: "Fresno, California: Known for: Methamphetamines, urban sprawl, heavy metal.

The scene: Fresno is still lousy with cover bands, but two groups stand out amid the noodling and the evil renditions of "Hotel California": Mynis is an ass-kicking Tool-esque metal group, while 40 Watt Hype is a happy eight-piece Latin jazz group that's having no trouble packing every gig. Somewhere between those extremes is Kat Jones, a singer-songwriter who writes damn good songs and whose new album, La Rosa, La Calavera, should have no trouble convincing you."  I thought that was pretty rad.  Yay!

Saturday, February 7, 2004

The Spring Tour is almost completely booked.  If you are interested in having Kat Jones & Diseases for Kisses come out to your neck of the woods please email katjonesbooking@hotmail.com

The artwork and mastering for "LA ROSA, LA CALAVERA" are almost done.  The release date has been moved from the end of March to the beginning of April.

New Merchandise is coming to katjonesmusic.com.  Buttons, stickers, and new, awesome t-shirts.  Please keep an eye out for those.

November 25, 2003

The recording of the new record "La Rosa, La Calavera" will soon be drawing to a close (sad).  Kat will be spending the months prior to the release of the record working on getting together a full time band and getting together a team of people who will be working with her on getting shows and other things.  Select shows will be available throughout California but until the touring year starts in February or March she will be laying low for a while.

Tours are already booking for next year so if you are interested in having her play in your area please email her directly at kat_jones_tours@hotmail.com

Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving :-)

October 8, 2003

If you still would like a copy from the Demo's For Lenz series (cd 2 is out now) you can either email me at katjonesmusic@hotmail.com or you can ask me at any of these upcoming shows.  They will be available only by request... not displayed on the merch table.

Get ready... this one's a doozy.

The Demos 4 Lenz Series:
Well, quite a bit of you have responded to my idea of releasing the series of demos I am recording for pre-production right now.  It looks like a go-ahead.  I'm kind of surprised actually that I didn't get a single negative response from anyone who emailed me on the subject.
I am thinking of making an admendment to this as well...

In Order To Recieve This Demo You Can Either:
- Send a donation of whatever you choose
- Or send something that inspires you or you think could inspire me (books, art, pictures, sayings, poems, comp cd's, whatever - be creative) during this creative period plus at least 3.00 shiping per cd (gotta pay for the envelope, cdr & stuff).  I am kind of in love with the things I have recieved from you guys before.  They're really encouraging to me.

For those of you who don't know what this project is about I'll tell you quickly.  I've been praying about the opportunity to take some time off work and really focus on writing this new record.
In order to do that I really have to be able to pay my bills (car, phone, insurance, gasoline, etc.) but I also don't want it to seem like this is some retarded skam to get your money either.  I'm perfectly capable of still working I just wouldn't have as much free time on my hands and work might serve as a sort of left brained distraction when I'm sort of hoping to live in the right hemmisphere for the next 2 months.  Next month I absolutely have to have the time off as well as I'll be in Huntington Beach recording and won't have a job.

You have a choice too... You can have me mail the demo's to you as they are done (the first one being completed and ready for shipping if you want it - 5 songs I think).  Or you can have me mail it to you as one cd when the 10 - 20 song demos are completed.

So if you're interested here's the address where to send stuff:
Kat Jones
1645 West Escalon
Fresno, CA  93711

Please email me at katjonesmusic@hotmail.com and give me the headz up so that I can prepare your cd for you so that you can have it asap.

Well, it's just one day until I leave on my first national tour.  And I have to throw some serious thanks (and a link) out to Michelle ( http://www.michellerock.com ).  This lovely girl has not only given up a month and a half of her life to run merch for me but is doing it for peanuts and has paid for her own plane ticket out to California.  Michelle, you are a doll.  I can not thank you enough for your help.  I really look forward to developing our friendship and spending time with you on the road.

Big thanks need to go out to Jesse Eubanks ( http://www.jesseeubanks.homestead.com ) and Nate Allen ( http://www.rock4reason.com ).  We have been booking like chickens with our heads cut off for the past few weeks and it's really showing.  Thanks guys for your hard work.  Good-luck Jesse on your next release.  I look forward to touring with you and meeting you.

I also have to thank Lucas Kerper, whom was my touring buddy on the last NW tour.  Lovely getting to know you.  I'll see you in a month yes?  (He's an awesome songwriter btw.)

And I definately have to thank EVERYONE who has been donating money to make this tour happen.  There has been such a short period between tours that I haven't had the chance to financially recover, but your support has been so amazing.  THANK YOU SO MUCH for believing in me.

Please check the TOURS page for upcoming dates.  And thank you everyone for your support.  I love you all.

I'LL SEE YOU ON THE ROAD!
